Heatwave Affecting Egypt from Today Through Mid-Next Week A heatwave is expected to affect the Arab Republic of Egypt starting today and continuing through the middle of next week, with peak temperatures forecast on Saturday and Sunday, 1–2 August 2026. Maximum temperatures over Greater Cairo are expected to range between 38°C and 39°C, while the feels-like temperature is expected to exceed 40°C due to high humidity. Across southern Egypt, maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 44–45°C, with feels-like temperatures exceeding 46°C.

**Safety Recommendations During the Heatwave** * Avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially between **12:00 PM and 6:00 PM**. * Wear a protective hat or head covering to reduce the risk of **heat exhaustion and heatstroke**. * Stay in **well-ventilated areas**, particularly if you suffer from respiratory or heart conditions. * Do not leave **flammable materials** inside parked vehicles, and avoid parking vehicles in direct sunlight whenever possible. * Avoid leaving **chargers and electrical appliances** plugged into power outlets for extended periods, especially during the hottest hours of the day.
