This warning is in effect for parts of the coast due to the following hazard(s):

  • Higher than normal water levels

Storm surge is expected at high tides at Herschel Island into Tuesday.

Water levels are expected to reach 20 cm above highest astronomical tide and may cause moderate flooding.

These high water levels will return at high tides in the overnight hours through Tuesday. Minor flooding may also occur at high tides in the afternoon.

These conditions can cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.

On prévoit une onde de tempête lors de la marée haute sur l'île Herschel jusqu'à mardi.

Les niveaux d'eau devraient atteindre 20 cm au-dessus de la marée astronomique la plus haute, ce qui pourrait occasionner des inondations modérées.

Ces niveaux d'eau élevés reprendront lors des marées hautes nocturnes jusqu'à mardi. Des inondations mineures pourraient également survenir lors des marées hautes en après-midi.

Ces conditions pourraient endommager les infrastructures près de la côte, notamment les bateaux échoués ou ancrés le long du littoral.
