The Hydrologic Forecast Centre has issued a high wind effect warning for Southern Manitoba, including areas near Lake Winnipeg, Lake Manitoba, and Lake Winnipegosis. High winds are expected across Lake Manitoba South Basin, Lake Winnipegosis, and Lake Winnipeg South Basin from June 12 to June 14, causing water levels to rise between 0.9 and 1.5 meters, with severe areas exceeding 1.5 meters. Significant and forceful wave action is anticipated throughout affected regions posing a potential threat to lakeside infrastructure and property.
