THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 321 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NORTH CAROLINA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ALAMANCE CHATHAM DAVIDSON DURHAM FORSYTH GRANVILLE GUILFORD ORANGE PERSON RANDOLPH VANCE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ARCHDALE, ASHEBORO, BURLINGTON, CARRBORO, CHAPEL HILL, CREEDMOOR, DURHAM, GRAHAM, GREENSBORO, HENDERSON, HIGH POINT, HILLSBOROUGH, KITTRELL, LEXINGTON, MEBANE, OXFORD, PITTSBORO, ROUGEMONT, ROXBORO, SILER CITY, THOMASVILLE, AND WINSTON-SALEM.
At 818 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Pine Hall to 6 miles northeast of High Point. Movement was east at 40 mph.
