Areas of flooding will be possible as snowmelt continues across the Copper River Basin, causing rapid rises on local rivers and streams through the weekend.

  • WHAT: Flooding caused by snowmelt continues to be possible.

  • WHERE: The following area, Copper River Basin. This includes the cities of Glennallen, Eureka, Mccarthy, Paxson, And Slana.

  • WHEN: Through Monday evening.

  • IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • Snowmelt flooding continues across portions of the Copper River Basin. Daytime high temperatures in the 50s, with nighttime lows above freezing at most locations, will continue to melt snow cover across the region, especially at higher elevations.
