These storms will bring frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds that are expected to cause new fire ignitions.

ESFAFG A front is expected to move westward over the state towards the beginning of this week. As this front progresses, we are expecting widespread rain showers and thunderstorms to begin Tuesday morning for the eastern Alaska Range and spread west by Tuesday afternoon during the time of heaviest rainfall with totals as high as 1" or more in some locations. Rapid rises of smaller rivers are possible with the heaviest rain on Tuesday in and near the Alaska Range. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
