Widespread elevated fire weather conditions are expected Friday, with locally critical conditions in the Northeast Highlands. Winds will be the limiting factor for more widespread critical conditions Friday. Critical fire weather conditions become more widespread Saturday when gusts of 40 to 50 mph will be common, especially over the high terrain. Haines Indices will range from 5 to 6 for most of the area on Saturday afternoon. Elevated to locally critical conditions are likely again from the central mountain chain eastward on Sunday.
