A South Pacific Convergence Zone (SPCZ) is expected to develop and strengthen later in the week. The SPCZ is forecast to move over, or at least near, American Samoa on Friday through the weekend. Widespread rain may be consistent and/or heavy at times, which may cause flash flooding over all islands of American Samoa. The risk of landslides increase, especially along steep mountain terrains, due to the anticipated rainfall from the SPCZ.
