  • WHAT: Minor coastal flooding expected with water levels up to 1 to 2 feet above normally dry ground during high tide cycles.

  • WHERE: Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison and Southern Jackson Counties.

  • WHEN: From midnight tonight to 8 AM CDT Sunday.

  • IMPACTS: Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

Instructions:

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

  • WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

  • WHERE: A portion of southern Mississippi, including the following areas, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison, Northern Jackson, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison and Southern Jackson.

  • WHEN: Through Sunday evening.

  • IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall are expected this evening and continuing through Sunday. A large area with rainfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches with locally higher amounts of 8 to 10 inches is expected in the watch area through Sunday evening.
