The Sanya Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow lightning warning signal at 12:54 on August 8, 2025: Due to the influence of strong convective cloud clusters, lightning activity may occur within 6 hours in the Yucai Ecological Zone, northern Tianya District, northern Jiyang District, and northern Haitang District of Sanya City, which may cause lightning disasters and accidents, accompanied by short-term heavy precipitation. Relevant units and personnel are requested to take preventive measures.
1. The government and relevant departments shall carry out lightning and wind protection work in accordance with their responsibilities; 2. Pay close attention to the weather and try to avoid outdoor activities as much as possible; 3. Secure buildings that are easily affected by wind, such as doors, windows, enclosures, sheds, and temporary structures. Personnel should leave the temporary structures as soon as possible and properly place outdoor items that are susceptible to thunderstorms and strong winds.
