The Ministry of Environment and Tourism through the Department of Meteorological Services wishes to alert the public on the possibility of widespread thundershowers or rains which might lead to flooding over some area in the southern parts of the country. These conditions will be triggered by the inflow of tropical moisture from the Intra-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and instability at medium levels of the atmosphere. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds are expected to occur over Ghanzi, Kgalagadi, Southern, Southeast, Kgatleng and Kweneng districts as of tomorrow , 29th October 2025.
Considering the expected widespread rains, the public is advised to take the precautionary measures to stay safe from the likely impacts of the conditions. The Department of Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds and will provide updates when the need arises.
