Official warning explanations:

A moderate to heavy rainstorm approaching the north eastern flanks of the country is expected to produce thunderstorms and rain of varying intensities over places along its path. The rainstorm is expected to affect Upper East, North East and Northern regions initially within the next hour before moving westwards to affect Upper West and Savannah regions later in the day. Gusty winds are likely to accompany the storm.

Residents in the regions should plan their morning activities with these timeframes in mind, allowing extra travel time and avoiding trips during the peak rain windows if possible. Motorists should reduce speed, use headlights, and avoid crossing flooded roads or low-lying bridges. Farmers, market traders, and outdoor workers should secure loose materials, produce, and equipment ahead of time. Those in flood-prone or riverside communities, particularly near Dambai and along the Oti River, should stay alert for further updates.
