Las imágenes de satélite del Meteosat (Europa) son actualizados en tiempo real cada 5 minutos. Las imágenes del GOES-16/GOES-17 (América del Norte y América del Sur) y Himawari (Asia) son actualizadas cada 10 minutos.
La precipitación se estima a partir del radar y de los satélites. Las estimaciones de la precipitación desde los satélites son menos precisas durante la noche que durante el día.
