Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to mid forties with overnight minimum temperatures generally in the low to high twenties for the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West, North West and Gulf Country districts. Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to low twenties for the North Tropical Coast, Peninsula, Herbet and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, and Capricornia districts. Severe heatwave conditions are building over northern, central and eastern Queensland, and are expected to persist until a milder southerly change that will contract the severe heatwave conditions to the far north of the state early next week. Severe heatwave conditions have eased in the Wide Bay and Burnett district, but low intensity conditions are expected to continue. Locations likely to be impacted include Barcaldine, Clermont, Hughenden, Moranbah, Rockhampton, Richmond and Winton.
