Etna volcanic eruption

On Monday, 2023-08-14, the volcano Etna started spreading ash and fire. Check out our satellite map and webcam to track the eruption.

Etna is the most active volcano in Europe, located in Sicily, Italy. It erupted on Monday morning, and our satellite images show how the dust clouds were moving to the South. You can also track the dust cloud in our satellite maps archive.

To access those maps, visit the satellite maps, and click the little calendar icon. There, you can select the day of interest. The historical satellite maps are available back to 2019 as part of our point+ subscription, which you can also test free of charge for 14 days. This gives you a chance also to find previous volcanic eruptions.
