Website darkmode is back

We are happy to announce that the meteoblue website now is again available in dark color scheme.

On the first of April, our website changed entirely to dark colors, because of the blackdown in Basel, Switzerland. Most of our users noticed that this was an April fool!

Since we have received a lot of positive feedback, we have decided to continue offering the dark website color scheme. The darkmode saves energy on some devices, is deemed to be better for the eyes and some users simply prefer dark colors.

We already offered a darkmode in past years, but had to stop offering it because of technical limitations. Based on the latest developments, we are now able to offer it again.

You can enable the darkmode in the website settings in the upper right corner of the website. Your preference will be stored in a cookie (if you accepted them) and the website will remain dark unless you change your settings again.

We hope you enjoy the new design and appreciate your feedback.

Fantastic. Very nice and clear and softer on the eyes.

I've been waiting for this. It's very clear to see.

Dark mode won't stay enabled. It switches automaticly back to light mode right away. Tested on Chrome Version 100.0.4896.75 (Official Build) (64-bit) and also on Microsoft Edge
Version 100.0.1185.29 (Official build) (64-bit)

It doesn't stay in dark mode, unfortunately. It switches right back to bright mode. :(

you can manually set a cookie in your browser using the developer tools with a name of "darkmode" and a value of "true" with an "Expires/Max-Age" date far in the future as a work around if you are having trouble with the UI.
