meteoblue Spring Day 2026

Bringing the team together for fun, exchange and valuable discussions.

At meteoblue, we spend a lot of time thinking about weather. Naturally, for our Spring Day 2026, we managed to choose a day that was not exactly postcard-perfect. Still, a little less-than-springlike weather was never going to stop us. If anything, it felt very on brand: who better than a weather company to enjoy the outdoors whatever the forecast?

On Thursday, 26 March 2026, the meteoblue team headed to Schützenhaus Reinach for our first company event of the year. Everyone arrived ready for a day that combined fresh air, team spirit, good food and thoughtful discussion.

We started the morning with Ice Stock Sport, a traditional Alpine game that many of us were trying for the first time. Played outdoors on a mobile playing surface, it is a little like curling, but with its own character and rhythm. The basic idea is simple: players slide an ice stock towards a target area, aiming to finish as close as possible. Of course, it quickly becomes more tactical than it sounds. A well-judged shot can improve your own position, but it can also send an opponent's stock off course. That combination of accuracy, strategy and a little bit of luck made it easy to get competitive very quickly.

What made the game especially enjoyable was that it worked for everyone. With guidance on site and all equipment provided, it did not matter whether someone arrived as a complete beginner or with hidden Ice Stock ambitions. There were concentrated faces, unexpected masterstrokes, and a few shots that proved the playing surface could be less forgiving than it looked. The weather may not have been ideal, but at least it gave the activity some extra authenticity. As a weather company, we probably should have arranged slightly better conditions, but perhaps that would have spoiled the challenge.

After the morning activity, we warmed up with a small aperitif, including punch and snacks, before sitting down for a delicious raclette lunch. Melted cheese is always a strong team-building tool, and in this case it was exactly the right choice. It gave everyone the chance to relax, chat and recover from the sporting part of the programme.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted from competition outdoors to ideas and collaboration indoors. We held a strategy workshop centred on meteoblue mission, vision and values, alongside broader reflections connected to company strategy. What made this part of the day especially valuable was that it was genuinely collaborative. Everyone had the opportunity to contribute, share perspectives and build on each other's thoughts. The discussions led to a number of interesting ideas and showed once again how much insight can emerge when people from different teams come together in the same room.

That balance between fun and substance is what made the day work so well. We had time to laugh, to compete, to eat well and to think seriously about where meteoblue is going and how we want to shape that journey together. Team events are not only about stepping away from daily routines; they are also about creating space for exchange, reflection and a stronger sense of connection.

All in all, meteoblue Spring Day 2026 was a successful and enjoyable time. The weather may not have been at its spring best, but the atmosphere certainly was. We returned with cold fingers, full stomachs, fresh ideas and a good reminder that a strong team can make any forecast work in its favour.
