Official warning explanations:

DAMAGING WESTERLY WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 100 km/h are likely this afternoon, with the strongest gusts associated with shower activity. Winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds late tonight. Locations which may be affected include Currie, Whitemark and Bridport. 113 km/h wind gust was observed at Low Rocky Point at 6:09 am. Sustained 85 km/h winds were observed at Low Rocky Point at 6:00 am. 139 km/h wind gust was observed at Scotts Peak Dam at 5:51 am.

  • Manage pets and livestock.
  • Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
