Official warning explanations:

Maximum temperatures in the low forties over northwestern and central areas with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties. In the east maximum temperatures in the low to mid thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue to contract from western parts of the State over the coming days, and ease towards the start of next week in the east. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Bundaberg, Biloela, Gladstone, Gympie, Ipswich, Ingham, Longreach, Mackay and Maroochydore.
