Official warning explanations:

Maximum temperatures increasing this weekend to the low to high thirties over the Southeast Coast and Wide Bay and Burnett, and reaching the low to mid forties further inland. Overnight minimum temperatures in the low to high twenties, reaching the low thirties far inland over the Channel Country. Severe heatwave conditions will intensify and extend through most of southern QLD during the weekend, and are expected to persist well into next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Birdsville, Dalby, Goondiwindi, Gympie, Roma, Stanthorpe, Thargomindah, Toowoomba and Warwick.
