Malheureusement, les nuages bas et le brouillard sont difficiles à distinguer des températures au sol et peuvent donc être presque invisibles pendant la nuit. Les images des satellites Météosat pour l'Europe sont mises à jour en temps réel toutes les 5 minutes. Les images GOES-16/GOES-17 (Amérique du Nord et du Sud) et Himawari (Asie) sont mises à jour toutes les 10 minutes.
