The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources has issued a Air Quality Action Day for Fine Particulates.. from 6 AM to 11 PM EDT Saturday. An Air Quality Action Day means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. Children and older adults, as well as people with heart or lung disease, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. Exposure to elevated levels of fine particles such as wood smoke can increase the likelihood of respiratory symptoms in sensitive individuals and aggravate heart or lung disease.
