The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening while the low-pressure cell covers the lower North and Hinan island. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the country. The rather strong wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while 1–2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Gulf, the waves have about 1 meter high 1-2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, an active low-pressure cell over the lower Bay of Bengal will intensify to the tropical depression during 23-24 May. It is expected to make landfall over northeastern of India and Bangladesh during 25-26 May.
People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows especially, along waterways and lowlands, and take more caution in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers areas. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore during 23-26 May.
มรสุมตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ที่พัดปกคลุมทะเลอันดามัน ประเทศไทย และอ่าวไทยมีกำลังแรงขึ้น ประกอบกับมีหย่อมความกดอากาศต่ำปกคลุมบริเวณภาคเหนือตอนล่าง และเกาะไหหลำ ลักษณะเช่นนี้ทำให้ประเทศไทยมีฝนตกหนักถึงหนักมากบางแห่ง สำหรับคลื่นลมบริเวณทะเลอันดามันมีกำลังค่อนข้างแรง โดยทะเลอันดามันตอนบนมีคลื่นสูง 2-3 เมตร บริเวณที่มีฝนฟ้าคะนองคลื่นสูงมากกว่า 3 เมตร ส่วนทะเลอันดามันตอนล่างมีคลื่นสูง 1–2 เมตร บริเวณที่มีฝนฟ้าคะนองคลื่นสูงมากกว่า 2 เมตร สำหรับอ่าวไทยมีคลื่นสูงประมาณ 1 เมตร ห่างฝั่งคลื่นสูง 1–2 เมตร บริเวณที่มีฝนฟ้าคะนองคลื่นสูงมากกว่า 2 เมตร อนึ่ง หย่อมความกดอากาศต่ำกำลังแรงบริเวณอ่าวเบงกอลตอนล่างมีแนวโน้มจะมีกำลังแรงขึ้นเป็นพายุดีเปรสชัน ในช่วงวันที่ 23-24 พ.ค. 67 และคาดว่าจะเคลื่อนขึ้นฝั่งบริเวณด้านตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศอินเดียและประเทศบังคลาเทศ ในช่วงวันที่ 25–26 พ.ค. 67
ขอให้ประชาชนในบริเวณดังกล่าว ระวังอันตรายจากฝนตกหนักและฝนที่ตกสะสม ซึ่งอาจทำให้เกิดน้ำท่วมฉับพลันและน้ำป่าไหลหลาก โดยเฉพาะพื้นที่ลาดเชิงเขาใกล้ทางน้ำไหลผ่านและพื้นที่ลุ่ม รวมทั้งเพิ่มความระมัดระวังในการสัญจรผ่านบริเวณที่มีฝนฟ้าคะนองไว้ด้วย ขอให้ชาวเรือบริเวณทะเลอันดามันและอ่าวไทยเดินเรือด้วยความระมัดระวังและหลีกเลี่ยงการเดินเรือในบริเวณที่มีฝนฟ้าคะนอง สำหรับชาวเรือบริเวณทะเลอันดามันตอนบนควรงดออกจากฝั่ง ในช่วงวันที่ 23–26 พ.ค. 67
