PILANDOK MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AS IT MOVES EASTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA. Location of eye/center : The center of Tropical Storm PILANDOK was estimated based on all available data at at 1,105 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon (22.2, 132.4). Strength : Maximum winds of 65 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 80 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move Eastward at 15 kph Forecast position : Sep 02, 2026 08:00 AM - 1,135 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon Sep 02, 2026 08:00 PM - 1,060 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon Sep 03, 2026 08:00 AM - 1,015 km Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) Sep 03, 2026 08:00 PM - 1,025 km Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook Refer to Weather Advisory No. 41 issued at 11:00 PM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to the Southwest Monsoon. Severe Winds The Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today until Thursday (03 September): Most of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Dinagat Islands, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 2 issued at 5:00 PM today. 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook   Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 5.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, and northern Ilocos Sur; the northern and western seaboards of Babuyan Islands. Up to 4.5 m: The seaboard of La Union; the western seaboard of Pangasinan; the remaining seaboards of Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Sur. Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.0 m: The seaboard of Zambales; the western seaboard of Bataan; the northern and western seaboards of Lubang Islands. Up to 3.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Lubang Islands; the southern seaboard of Bataan; the western seaboards of Cavite, Batangas, and northern Occidental Mindoro. Up to 3.0 m: The northern and western seaboards of Calamian Islands and Kalayaan Islands. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The seaboard of Isabela; the western seaboard of mainland Palawan; the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the remaining seaboards of Pangasinan and Kalayaan Islands; the northern seaboard of mainland Cagayan; the remaining western seaboard of Occidental Mindoro. Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Aurora, Romblon, Cuyo Islands, Antique, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Occidental; the northern seaboard of Catanduanes; the southern seaboards of Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Iloilo, and Guimaras; the remaining seaboards of mainland Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Occidental Mindoro, and Davao Oriental. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone. PILANDOK is forecast to move north northeastward within the next 12 hours. Afterwards, it will move northwestward for the remainder of the forecast period. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday (03 September) early morning. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country and will remain far from the Philippine landmass. PILANDOK is forecast to remain as a tropical storm as it moves towards southern Japan.
