Areas closer to the coast will see maximum temperatures in the low to high thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to intensify and persist into the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Aurukun, Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw and Weipa.
