DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of up to 100 km/h are possible over alpine areas today. Above 1900m, DAMAGING WINDS may also average 80 to 90 km/h with BLIZZARDS also possible. Damaging winds and blizzards are forecast to ease during early Tuesday morning. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that back country travel be postponed until conditions improve. Locations which may be affected include Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass. 90-100 km/h gusts recorded at Perisher Valley throughout the afternoon, with a peak gust of 104 km/h at 1:49pm.
