A tropical cyclone will affect the locality. Winds of 39-61 kph or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours. “INDAY” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING WESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA EAST OF NORTHERN LUZON Location of eye/center : The center of the eye of Super Typhoon INDAY was estimated based on all available data at at 1,070 km East Northeast of Southeastern Luzon (17.1, 132.7). Strength : Maximum winds of 195 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 240 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move Westward at 20 kph Forecast position : Jul 09, 2026 02:00 AM - 960 km East of Northern Luzon Jul 09, 2026 02:00 PM - 830 km East of Northern Luzon Jul 10, 2026 02:00 AM - 670 km East of Calayan, Cagayan Jul 10, 2026 02:00 PM - 480 km East of Itbayat, Batanes Jul 11, 2026 02:00 AM - 405 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes Jul 11, 2026 02:00 PM - 560 km North of Itbayat, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR) Jul 12, 2026 02:00 PM - 1,065 km North Northwest of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook Refer to Weather Advisory No. 9 issued at 5:00 PM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to TC INDAY and the Southwest Monsoon. Severe Winds The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction. Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. The highest Wind Signal that may be hoisted throughout INDAY’s passage is Wind Signal No. 2 or 3. The enhanced Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of Super Typhoon INDAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today: Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, CALABARZON, most of MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, most of Visayas, and most of Mindanao. Tomorrow (09 July): Most of the country. Friday (10 July): Most of the country. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Visayas. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 2 issued at 5:00 PM today. 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 5.0 m: The seaboard of Isabela; the eastern seaboards of Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands. Up to 4.5 m: The seaboard of Camarines Norte; the remaining seaboards of Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands; the northern seaboards of Aurora, Camarines Sur, and Eastern Samar; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands and Catanduanes; the eastern seaboard of Northern Samar. Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.0 m: The eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the remaining seaboards of Aurora and Eastern Samar; the northern seaboard of Quezon. Up to 3.5 m: The eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Dinagat Islands, Bucas Grande-Siargao Islands, and Surigao del Norte; the northern seaboard of Northern Samar. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of Southern Leyte and Kalayaan Islands;the remaining seaboards of Surigao del Norte including Bucas Grande-Siargao Islands; the southeastern seaboard of Davao Occidental; the western seaboard of Masbate. Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Siquijor, Camiguin, and Agusan del Norte; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the remaining seaboards of Quezon, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar; the southern seaboards of Bohol and Cagayancillo Islands; the western seaboard of mainland Palawan. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone. INDAY is forecast to move generally west northwestward over the next 12 hours. It will then turn northwestward while remaining over the Philippine Sea and may be nearest to Extreme Northern Luzon by Friday (10 July) evening or Saturday (11 July) morning before heading towards the southern islands of Japan and the sea north of Taiwan. INDAY is forecast to exit the PAR by Saturday (11 July) and make landfall over the eastern coast of mainland China by Sunday (12 July). INDAY will maintain its strength as a super typhoon until tomorrow (09 July). Afterwards, it is forecast to weaken into a typhoon by tomorrow evening or Friday early morning until it exits the PAR.
