NENENG WEAKENED INTO A LOW PRESSURE AREA AND EXITED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Location of eye/center : The center of the Low Pressure Area (formerly “NENENG”) was estimated based on all available data at at 480 km North of Itbayat, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR) (25.1, 122.3). Strength : Maximum winds of kph near the center. Forecast movement : Forecast to move Almost Stationary. HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Severe Winds The Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today until Saturday (22 August): Most of Luzon and Visayas, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga del Norte. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.0 m: The western seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Up to 3.5 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Norte; the remaining seaboards of Batanes. Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur and Zambales; the western seaboard of Pangasinan; the northwestern seaboard of Kalayaan Islands. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of La Union and Lubang Islands; the northern seaboard of Pangasinan; the western seaboard of Batangas; the western and southern seaboards of Bataan. Up to 2.0 m: The western seaboard of Occidental Mindoro; the northern and western seaboards of northern Palawan including Calamian Islands; the remaining seaboards of Babuyan Islands and Kalayaan Islands. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK The remnant low will generally move northward towards the East China Sea. Due to favorable environmental condition, the possibility of redevelopment into a tropical depression within the coming days is not ruled out.
