Under present weather conditions, At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "MAYMAY" {KUJIRA} was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Bantay, Ilocos Sur (17.6°N, 120.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 110 km/h. It is moving Eastward at 10 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Southern Luzon and the western section of Visayas. The 12-hour rainfall forecast is LIGHT TO MODERATE rains and thunderstorms. WATERCOURSES LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED : + **Isabela** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Dikatayan, Divilacan and Palanan-Pinacanauan. + **Cagayan** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Linao, Lower Abulug, Lower Pamplona, Cabicungan, Aunugay, Baua, Palawig and Taboan. + **Nueva Vizcaya** - All rivers and its tributaries + **Quirino** - All rivers and its tributaries

Winds of 39-61 kph or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours. “MAYMAY” IS NOW OVER BANGUED, ABRA Location of eye/center : The center of Tropical Storm MAYMAY was estimated based on all available data including those from Benguet Doppler Weather Radar at in the vicinity of Bangued, Abra (17.6, 120.6). Strength : Maximum winds of 65 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 110 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move Eastward at 10 kph Forecast position : Aug 06, 2026 05:00 PM - Over the coastal waters of Palanan, Isabela Aug 07, 2026 05:00 AM - 380 km East of Casiguran, Aurora HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook Refer to Weather Advisory No. 18 issued at 5:00 AM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to TC MAYMAY and the Southwest Monsoon. Severe Winds The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction. Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2. Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. The Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of MAYMAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today until Saturday (06 to 08 August): Most of the country. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS A Gale Warning is in effect over the western seaboard of Northern Luzon. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 5 issued at 5:00 AM today. 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan; the western seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the northern seaboard of Batanes. Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Batanes; the seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northeastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan. Up to 3.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Ilocos Norte and mainland Cagayan; the eastern seaboards of Isabela, northeastern Aurora, and Davao Oriental; the northern seaboards of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Northern Samar; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes; the western seaboards of Zambales, Bataan, and northwestern Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Islands. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Aurora and Occidental Mindoro; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands; the eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Sur; the western seaboards of Batangas; the northern and western seaboards of northern Palawan including Calamian Islands; the seaboards of Kalayaan Islands. Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Romblon, Masbate, Cagayancillo Islands, Caluya Islands, Camiguin, Davao Occidental, and Sarangani Islands; the southern seaboards of Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, Marinduque, Cuyo Islands, Iloilo, Guimaras, Bohol, Southern Leyte, and Davao Oriental; the western seaboards Antique, mainland Palawan, Negros Occidental, Biliran, northwestern Leyte, and Surigao del Norte; the remaining seaboards of Batangas, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon; the northern seaboard of Cebu. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone. On the latest forecast track, MAYMAY will traverse the mountainous terrain of Northern and Central Luzon before emerging over the eastern coastal waters of Isabela or Cagayan. MAYMAY is forecast to continue weakening while moving further inland. It will weaken into a tropical depression likely this morning and may be downgraded into a remnant low this afternoon or evening. However, due to interaction with the rugged terrain, an earlier weakening is possible. The remnant low of MAYMAY will move generally southeastward until it merges into the larger circulation of Tropical Cyclone DOLPHIN.
