meteoblue innovations 2022

In 2022, we were continuously developing and improving our website. Now, we want to look back and give an overview of our new innovations.

Here, we will look at what we have released and innovated in 2022. We are constantly working on our products and try making them better, and the essential website innovations of the past year are shown in the overview. Here are some more detailed descriptions of these changes by month:

January: The year started with a new Weather Today page, to which we have added substantial enhancements like rainNOW for most of Europe and the US, with precise radar updates, radar and satellite maps for every place in the world and airport information.

February: The upgrade of our MultiModel now offers the option to customise the diagram by selecting between different models.

March: We added weather warnings to our start page, meteoMail, weather maps and meanwhile also to our apps.

April: The darkmode was re-invented, and we added climate predictions to our history+ website subscription. These offer an easy summary of complex climate change simulations for any location on Earth, reaching until the year 2100, based on different emission scenarios of the IPCC report.

May: We launched unique historical satellite maps available since December 2019 - worldwide and in the highest available precision - the first of its kind worldwide. The satellite history for the past week is available free of charge. The whole satellite history is part of our point+ subscription, which you can also test for 2 weeks without any obligations.

June: We have drawn new pictograms to better distinguish thunderstorm and cloud cover situations. In addition, the French and English weather reports have been improved.

July: Our hourly weather overview was re-designed as a temperature arch, summarising hourly weather information in a curve decorated by colours, weather symbols, and daylight time.

August: The Estonian city of Tallinn was added to our city climate page along with a new chart for each city analysing historical weather data such as summer and heat days or tropical nights since 1979.

September: We have released the new website account overview for better management of website products.

October: During this month, we had the chance to present our products and innovation at the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022 in Paris.

November: This month brought an update of the 14 days weather forecast with a new design and much faster loading speed. Furthermore, the East Asia forecast was enhanced by adding the MSM5 model.

December: The latest innovation is our ski resort page summarising the most relevant ski information. The ski weather can be found on the start page for locations nearby ski resorts, and detailed information is available on the designated ski resort page.

We hope you enjoy these features and innovations, and appreciate any suggestions for 2023.
