Official warning explanations:

“UWAN” WEAKENS INTO A REMNANT LOW. Location of eye/center : The Low Pressure Area (formerly "UWAN")was estimated based on all available data at 490 km North Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (24.9, 123.6). The Northeast Monsoon will bring occasionally gusty conditions reaching strong to gale-force strength over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.5 m: The seaboard of Batanes. Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 3.5 m:  The northern seaboard of Babuyan Islands. Up to 3.0 m: The northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte and mainland Cagayan; the remaining seaboard of Babuyan Islands. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Ilocos Region; the northern and western seaboards of Palawan including Calamian Islands. Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Zambales; the western seaboards of Bataan and Lubang Island; the remaining seaboard of Calamian Islands. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK Due to unfavorable conditions, UWAN weakened into a Low Pressure Area at 8:00 AM today. This remnant low will continue to move generally east northeastward towards the southern portion of Ryukyu Islands and may dissipate within the next 24 hours.
