Erklärungen zur offiziellen Warnung:
  • WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

  • WHERE: A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazos, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker.

  • WHEN: Through Monday morning.

  • IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into tonight. Radar estimated rain totals so far has been 1 to 3" within the watch area with isolated higher amounts in northern Houston County to 4". An additional 1-3" inches is possible through tonight as the showers and storms persist. Area soils are already saturated due to previous heavy rain events with 1 and 3 hour Flash Flood Guidance around 2 to 3 inches, so the additional heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding. There will be a lull in the precipitation late tonight into Monday morning, but additional showers and storms are likely Monday afternoon. The Watch expiration time will remain the same for now, but it may be extended during later updates.
