Data poskytuje nowcast.de (dostupné v USA, Evropě a Austrálii). Mrholení nebo slabé sněžení může být pro radar neviditelné. Intenzita srážek je barevně kódována od tyrkysové po červenou.
Satelitní snímek v reálném čase kombinuje viditelné světlo během dne s infračerveným zářením během noci. V noci snímek není tmavý, protože infračervené záření dokáže detekovat teplotní rozdíly. Bohužel je obtížné odlišit nízkou oblačnost a mlhu od teplot povrchu, a proto mohou být v noci téměř neviditelné. Satelitní snímky Meteosat pro Evropu se aktualizují v reálném čase každých 5 minut. Snímky GOES-16/GOES-17 (Severní a Jižní Amerika) a Himawari (Asie) se aktualizují každých 10 minut.
Srážky se odhadují z radarových a satelitních dat. Odhady srážek ze satelitů jsou v noci méně přesné než během dne.
